I had the opportunity to try Starbucks (relatively new) instant coffee the other day. I’m not a huge coffee snob but I do know what I like. Regular drip coffee is great and french press is a great occasional treat. Espresso is also nice from time to time but I’ll only ever drink it after dinner and I’m always leery of that – tough to get to sleep…
I thought that the Via coffee was a step above the instant we drink when we’re tent camping. That was about it though. At just shy of a buck a cup it’s an expensive upgrade. I’d drink half as much of the real stuff and skip it.

Me…I’m a coffee snob…Chock Full of Nuts is the brand of choice. Although, I would label the worst instant coffee in the world as what was in C-Rations; and the upgrade in the MREs was not much an improvement.
Cool thing though – you can go anywhere in the world, and say “coffee” and it is a universal word. The double-f gets changed, but even if you say it in English, it is understood. Europe, Arabian countries, and Korea – easy word I ever learned!

Hopefully our area representatives in
Richmond will wake up and smell the
coffee on the freezing of the regular
adjustment of the Local Composite Index.
This “plan” will cost our MCPS well
over three million dollars next year
(PWC 22 million). Outgoing Gov. Kaine
came up with this outrage and it is
unknown at this moment what
Gov, McDonnell will do. Fairfax will
take a 60M hit and Loudoun 30M, but
their legislators are “on the case”.
Ours have been oddly silent.
I suggest e-mails and calls to them
and Gov. McDonnell NOW.
Demand fair treatment for our children!

Tell ya what Steve, let’s put together for our Prince William Area General Assembly members a nice package of coffe – some Starbucks, some Caribou, and some good ole Maxwell House.
I remember the Town Hall Meeting with Del. Marshall where a “prophet in the wilderness” pointed out our representatives have net with the City Council for a couple of years now. Maybe they think we’ll give ’em C-Rat coffee to drink while meeting?
