My Side of the Fence

The danger isn't going too far. It's that we don't go far enough.

What a game!

I was able to go to half of the Eagles away game last night and, despite the cold, it was a great half of football.  For the second week in a row OHS upset their undefeated opponents.  From my vantage point, it looked like there were far more OHS fans than Woodbridge, and we were much louder.

Our defense was pretty stout and layin’ the wood to the other side.  The offense was exciting and succesful in moving the ball.  Special teams in weather like that is tough but we were able to overcome it.

I don’t think Demeria saw me but I heard him.  Easily the most wound-up I’ve been at a football game in awhile.  Osbourn runs out of a triangle formation and they seem to get their best plays off the edge.  I’m yelling for our QB to RUN RUN RUNSLOW SLOW! RUNSLOW!CUT!!  All kinds of new words…But, I wasn’t alone.  My voice is pretty torn up.

There was even a kid there who had painted his body and was shirtless.  He was okay for about a quarter before he was shivering all over.  Someone finally gave him a blanket.

Congrats Eagles!! Great game.

Neighborhood Services Conference

Congrats to the City staff for pulling off another good neighborhood conference.  I was one of the speakers and, while I feel that my speech was not a great one, the point of the conference is to enable the people who are trying to save their neighborhoods so my performance didn’t much matter.

This conference and the City’s Neighborhood Services department are crucial in keeping our strong neighborhoods strong and giving our weaker ones a hand up.  I hope that everyone had a good time and learned some things that can help you in your quest.

If you would like to comment on this, please keep your comments constructive.  Feel free to call me an idiot on my blog but leave staff and other citizens alone.
