Got a call from the Fire Chief this evening that Carmello’s was on fire. Headed up there and the fire was out by the time I got there. I talked to the Volunteer Chief onsite and he indicated that they hadn’t done much research yet but they thought it might be an oven fire. It appears they managed to contain the fire to the first floor. 2 fires in 5 or so days – thanks to our public safety folks – great job and nobody was injured.

Wow. I was just at First AME for the 10th District Candidates’ Forum and drove home through Old Town – had no idea. Glad the damage was contained and no one was hurt.

We drove by on Main Street on the way to the Old Town Sports bar and restaurant(good food btw), and we wondered what was going on.

Thanks COM. I’ve wondered about that place. Looks pretty busy…

You are welcome. It sure was busy last night.
I know that it opened as the Center Street Grille, or restaurant, but did not last long. So I’m not sure if it is under the same ownership or new, but let’s hope this one can stay open.

I had heard that the Old Town Sports Bar employed young girls as waitresses and had them wear skimpy referee’s outfits (ala Hooters). Is this an SOB that will be regulated also?

I can confirm the waitresses do wear ref uniforms, though, I would not say they are as skimpy as the ones worn by the waitresses at hooters.

I had lunch there today, great food and scenery.
