I recieved an update from the Chief of Police today on the ICE program. The computers that staff will use to access ICE data should be installed this week. According to his data, staff at the ADC have processed 56 deportation retainers so far. There are three dozen more in the queue. The types of violations committed are all over the place.
Also, the MOU for the jail is in the process of being amended to include the 3 seperate jurisdictions so that the police departments may participate in the ICE program. This request is under review by DHS. If it is approved, it may be a bit before training for the various PD’s can begin training. ICE is currently out of money to run the 287 training program.
Overall, things are starting to get moving.
