My Side of the Fence

The danger isn't going too far. It's that we don't go far enough.

Back Again

It’s been a heck of a year.  The bike experiment has been going pretty well when the weather cooperates but I’ve had to have my (foot) heel worked on twice.  This makes it painful to walk but bike riding was ok….Until yesterday when my back acted up again.  Oddly, it freaked out when I was bending over just a little bit.  Bike riding might have aggrevated it but it is hard to tell.

The problem is a disk that is screwed up and, from time to time, pinches the nerve therein.  So, I went to see the foot doc yesterday and he pronounces me healed and within 24 hours, I’m flat on my back….ain’t life grand.  Hoping I can stand up straight to introduce Santa on Friday and ride in the parade Saturday.

  1. Sorry to hear that Andy. Hope all is well otherwise. Next time I am in Manassas, we should do lunch and catch up on what’s going down in the city.

  2. Andy, hope you are feeling better.

You will need to be on your game tonight when Santa arrives
on the VRE in Old Town. He has been known to engage in
some lively repartee during his visits to Manassas.

  3. Kipp! Hope ur doing well! Don’t worry Steve, I can take him…:)

Andy, back in ’95 I tore up my back, and that was the reason in ’98 I and the Army parted ways after 23 years.

One of the things they told me to stay away from was a bicycle…unless it was the good ole Schwin one-speed, big wide seat type. Even then, the PT guy said if I could have one with a brace up the back like a kiddie seat, even better.

So I skip bike riding…LOL! But judging from the pictures, you made it!
