My Side of the Fence

The danger isn't going too far. It's that we don't go far enough.

Interesting statistic

Foreclosures have plagued our area for the past year and home values have suffered.  On average, homes have lost ~19% of their value each of the last two years.  Today in the LA Times I read that the average home price in the LA area has fallen 41% since last summer.  Everything sucks right now.

  1. FYI – There will be Finance Committee tonight in the second floor
conference room of Manassas City Hall at 5:30 PM. This is an open
meeting and the public is invited.
    – Among items on the agenda is a discussion of the draft of
a revised City/School joint budget agreement.

Andy, Andy. Didn’t you get any encouragement out of the neighborhood conference on Saturday? I know the buzz in the halls was about what’s getting cut, services wise, but there were 235 people there who want to make this a better city, the Boys & Girls Club is an awesome facility for youth and membership is only $25 a year and there were THREE rainbows outside.

Today I was picking up trash on Landgreen Street and Cavalry Lane in the Weems area, turned the corner and was very encouraged to see an Adopt-a-Street sign announcing that Artillery Road has been adopted by Girl Scout Troop 3105. This is an area where I am constantly picking up trash in front of vacant and rental homes, and a secluded section where people like to park. If 10 and 11 year old girls are willing to stand up for our neighborhoods and show their gumption, you should, too. You are a LEADER.

    Snap out of it!
