My Side of the Fence

The danger isn't going too far. It's that we don't go far enough.

Post Service Thoughts

Well, the service for my Grandfather went off well.  It was at the Baker-Post Funeral Home.  Mike and his folks did a great job; real pro’s and everything was just handled.  Even though my Grandparents had just moved down here a year ago, a fair number of folks turned out.  I appreciate all the emails and phone calls and those who were able to attend: the Mayor came by and Mr. Randolph attended the service.  Thanks to all for your support.

In an odd twist, I was asked to read the post that I had previously written (the one below this) as a form of eulogy.  It wasn’t really written to be presented as an oral piece, I dont do that type of thing – whatever talent I have with the written word generally doesn’t extend to speech writing.  It was doubly awkward as it was really addressed to a group of folks who didn’t know who he was.  Took a little of work around the edges but I think everyone liked it.
