My Side of the Fence

The danger isn't going too far. It's that we don't go far enough.

Veep Debate

It’s on for tomorrow night.  We’ll see.  I am not sure that any outcome will surprise me as I view it as a complete wild card.  Given what I’ve seen, I expect that Palin will have some dificulties but Biden regularly shoots himself in the foot, leg, etc.

Oddly enough, I think that the candidate that does the best at focusing on the opposing candidate for president and not the foe directly accross the stage from them will do the best.

Go ahead and let me know what you think.

iPhone

Well, I went out and got myself an iPhone.  After using it for a couple of weeks I have a couple of observations.

The first is that the phone hardware seems well-built and sturdy.  The software is simply the best interface that I’ve ever used on a mobile device.  Apple has gotten the software exactly right.  It is amazing, especially if you need to synch your desktop emails, etc with the phone.

The 3G service from AT&T just isn’t that great.  The speed, when you have a good signal, isn’t bad but this is exactly the problem: the service oscillates between full strength and no service when the phone hasn’t been moved.  It reminds me of cell service back in the day.  On the plus side, when I switch it back to “normal” service, the signal is very steady.  I suppose that if you go closer to DC it probably gets better.

Overall, I’m glad I got it and I think it will only get better if AT&T continues to build their network….
