I give up. I knew it was going to be a “listen to ’em on the radio while you do something else” kinda year but yesterday’s outing was especially bad. Our QB seems to be developing nicely but 6 turnovers (not all his) killed the effort. This is like 3 games in a row that the ‘Skins just didn’t seem to want to win.
Meanwhile, the Eagles may have shown the blueprint for defeating the unstoppable Pats last night. I never thought I would root for the Eagles (unless they were playing Dallas) but they certainly put on an incredible show last night.

They are, in fact, going. I dislike them but they’re playing well…..

I once read an article about sports and psychology, and the thesis to the article was that of “people who pull for winning teams tend to be less prone to depression and other psychological ailments” or something to that effect. With this in mind, I’m concerned for any Redskins fan, and go Patriots! In all seriousness, I don’t expect much from the Redskins until they get that QB some more experience, or they sign an upper tier QB.
I will point out that following the Redskins this season is probably going to cause one to miss the most compelling themes of the season. There are two right now that I’m following, the “Can anybody beat New England theme?” and the “Can Brett Farve accomplish the ultimate goal while playing against men almost half his age?” Since my unmentioned favorite team is all but mathematically already eliminated from playoff contention, these are the stories I find most compelling, and I would love to see them converge in a Super Bowl, but that seems like daydreaming at this point. Remember, there’s a story every season, but it’s not always the story you want to hear.
PS- I hate the Redskins.

That was a heck of a game last night fuzzy. Until last night, watching the pats was pretty boring. The Farve story is simply amazing.

Attempting to understand the tragic death of Sean Taylor – Micheal
Wilbon has a piece in today’s WaPo that offers some insight. One
senses that Sean would have been better off not living in Miami
near his old “pals”, but only a full investigation will determine that fact.
Very sad.
