My Side of the Fence

The danger isn't going too far. It's that we don't go far enough.

Lake Manassas Update

The City has recieved word that the developer who was going to donate the land for the proposed marina at the lake has elected to pursue their lawsuit against the City.  Their letter  indicates that they are unhappy with the pace of negotiations and have filed and served their action.  Presumably in hope that the Courts will move this along for them.  Don’t ask about my thoughts on their case.  I don’t have any idea – I’m an IT guy, not a lawyer.  I’m sure we’ll be meeting with the City Attorney very soon to go over it all.

However, I do belive that this is an unfortunate setback.  Litigation is not my specialty but I’m guessing it kinda puts the brakes on the process…..

Well, I am not suprised they are pushing – I have heard tales of their Braemer development and some of the stuff going on at their new one. Disappointed in them though – the city is working with two other entities to resolve a complicated issue and they have no patience. I scanned over the biz plan stuff from July 1 and (as a former Federal Contracting Officer) I can see it is a toughy to work out all the little things.

But your right, Andy, it will put the brakes on the timeline to get things in place. Hope the City continues to work to iron out the biz plan at least while this thing winds it ways through the legal process.

@Ray: the Freedom Center is developing the biz plan. I guess they will continue but don’t know what the plan is yet….
