I apologize for the lack of posts lately but the City budget process is consuming all my free time. The process from here on out proceeds at a somewhat more stately pace but last week was just brutal. I’ll see if I can’t get something meaningful put together this week.

Glad to see the informative article in the MJM on the council’s
marathon work session Saturday on public works and public safety
(seven plus hours). As always, the MJM is living up to its basic
journalistic responsibiltyof keeping its readers informed about the
actions of local government. (You missed that piece? Darn, may
to want to phone the editor and/or publisher).
Ok, lets look in today’s paper – (“Man has hiccuped for six years”,
“Manassas PARK holds public hearing tonight”, County supers to
meet, “Tea Lady” wins award, and for those interested in Manassas
City government – a message from the MJM “Get ready to go fly
a kite”?
(Public Hearing – 7:30 tonight at the Manassas City Hall on the
City Manager’s Proposed Budget for FY 2007-2008 – – Don’t
think any of us can depend on the MJM for coverage).

On second thought – come at 5:30 and catch the “first feature(s).
Action items include:
– Reconsideration -The Harrover resolution on neighborhood presevation.
– Reconsideration – Lifting covenant on Prince William Street church
owned property.
-Consideration – Resolution allowing the construction of a funeral home/
crematory on Nokesville Road.
-Consideration – Zoning text amendment on allowing home businesses.
-Consideration – Resolution commending Paul Mitchell for his service
on Commission on Aging.
The Crystal Ball thinks the last one passes. The others? Who can figure
out the Manassas City Council.

Oh come on Andy! We all know that being a councilmember is one of the easiest jobs out there, and you get paid a fortune doing it. I expect to see more from you!
