One of our career firefighters, Zygimantas Zalys, died last Thursday from cancer. There was a fundraising event – a softball tournament about 3 weeks ago where I met “Z”, his wife and child. I didn’t know him for long but I am saddened to see him go. Please pray for Z and his family. Information on the service is here.

Sad indeed. Z was an asset to the City and will be missed.
We were planning a benefit golf tournament. When the details firm up I will email them to you Andy.

It is my understanding that “Z” was a native of Lithuania and
became a volunteer in the O.W.L. Dept. , in part, to show his
appreciation of America. He, of course, more recently also became
a member of the Manassas career staff. (An O.W.L. leader
said they have a fund raising dinner at their station planned
for July 31st).
A fine man, he is missed by all that knew him.
