Many people have called so allow me to post: We went to court today and Mr. Fernandez showed up without a lawyer again. I wasn’t there but he indicated that he is having trouble finding a lawyer and requested a second continuance. Judge Potter granted the second continuance. Next court date is next Wed.

I am going to go out on a limb here. Mr Fernandez will show up again without a lawyer. He will claim to be trying to follow the process, but the entire city government is out to get him, because he is a “person of color”. He’ll play to the 12 or so supporters that will be there, and then some outfit in California will issue a press release about the big racist government silencing a patriot trying to restore “Aztlan”.
The real story is that Mr. Fernandez has plans for that property, and needs it rezoned to realize those plans. The City has thus far signaled that those plans are not in keeping with the City’s plans for the Old Town Historic district. Mr. Fernandez’s strategy is to become such a pain to the city, that they cave and grant his zoning request. The local press hasn’t drilled into this, but it is pretty clear from his actions what his real motivations are.
