My Side of the Fence

The danger isn't going too far. It's that we don't go far enough.

Museum Event

There is a pretty cool lineup at the Museum on Sunday:

At 2:00 (Sunday) there is an author’s presentation and book signing by Thomas Allen.  He has written a children’s book on Harriet Tubman.

From 1:00-3:00 there is a living history presentation about the 54th Massachusetts (same unit as portrayed in Glory).  There will be guys in uniform who do a living history presentation.

Both items require admission but I think they look cool.

  1. Andy, don’t forget Sunday is also the grand opening of the new traveling exhibit from Pamplin Park “Many Thousands Go”. This exhibit chronicles the participation of 178,000 African American soldiers during the Civil War with 100 artifacts, photographs and an interactive kiosk.

  2. It was impressive and informative. I went, as did Councilman Randolph and Concilman Aventi.
