It’s a sad day for Manassas. Former council member Judy Hayes has passed away. I didn’t know Judy real well but after her loss at the last convention, she agreed to help with my campaign. She attended my first campaign committee meeting and, while she was gracious enough not to laugh out loud at our plan, she did pretty much take over the meeting and get us pointed in the right direction. I appreciate her helping me and I appreciate her long service to the City.

It was my priviledge to know Judy Hays for over twenty years –
first as an excellent Social Services Director and then a fine
councilwomen. She was an individual with intelligence, compassion,
and wit – I will miss her.

One of my first duties as a newly-minted member of the Manassas GOP, was to interview Judy as part of the nominations committee at one of our Mass Meetings. I was impressed with her intelligence and thoughtful answers to my questions. We have lost a good citizen, who served her City. R.I.P.
