The Governor of Illinois, Gov. Blagojevich, has been accused of trying to sell a Senate seat.  The legislature there is trying to impeach the Governor but can’t quite get it right.  The AG of Illinois is trying to get the state supreme court to throw him out and the prosecutor is acting as though he’s in a Grisham book.  The proceedings seem messy and ad-hoc.

I’m an amateur at the kind of political fun and games that they play in the big cities but I expect that if the truth be told, the big difference between what Gov. Blagojevich did and many other big city Mayors is that he got caught on tape.  I just can’t believe that the same kind of thing (although perhaps not at this level) doesn’t go on every day in NYC, Philly, Boston, etc, etc, etc.

I don’t expect that the Governor conducted himself as he should have but he should be treated according to the law and not torn to bits in an arbitrary manner. If he should be removed then impeach him and turn him out.  Stop with all the drama.
