My Side of the Fence

The danger isn't going too far. It's that we don't go far enough.

City Manager Interviews

Just a quick update: We’ve begun interviewing candidates for the Manager’s position.  We’re doing these at a local hostel – it’s a personnel matter so they’re all closed meetings so I wouldn’t bother wandering out to the Holiday Inn…:)  We interviewed for most of today and will be interviewing all day tomorrow and Friday.  It’s a pretty heavy schedule.  My business is really short-handed right now because of it.

We only interviewed 2 folks today and if the other candidates are as good, I think we’re going to have a difficult decision to make.

  1. The good news is that if the remainder are as good, then we cannot go wrong with our decision.

It pains me to say it but I agree with Jon…:) The candidates after day one are tremendously strong.

  3. Better to be forced to pick from among the best than to be forced to pick from among the worst. A good problem to have indeed!

  4. The key will be to find that person who can work more effectively with the County.

  5. Dave makes the best point of all plus add the qualifiers someone who can not only work well with NVRC (aka Planning District 8), but that million pound gorilla known as MWCOG.
