The Council referred the matter of hiring more Fire Fighters to the Finance committee on Wednesday at 5:30. The City manager wants to hire 11 more fire fighters. These positions are in the budget but the Manager needed Council approval to hire so the Finance committee will take this up on Wed.

I am interested in the word from the committee as well. 11 firefighters is an expensive proposition. While I certainly care about the safety of our community (I was a PWC Firefighter/EMT a number of years ago), it should be balanced with needs of the community.
