My Side of the Fence

The danger isn't going too far. It's that we don't go far enough.

Redskins

I give up. I knew it was going to be a “listen to ’em on the radio while you do something else” kinda year but yesterday’s outing was especially bad. Our QB seems to be developing nicely but 6 turnovers (not all his) killed the effort. This is like 3 games in a row that the ‘Skins just didn’t seem to want to win.
Meanwhile, the Eagles may have shown the blueprint for defeating the unstoppable Pats last night. I never thought I would root for the Eagles (unless they were playing Dallas) but they certainly put on an incredible show last night.

Thanksgiving – updates

Happy Thanksgiving everyone. I am in Richmond with my Wife’s family and it’s just great. By way of update, my back is better but not fixed. I had an MRI on Monday and should have the results Friday. In talking with others, it seems like a disk problem but I’ll wait to see what the doc says. Thanks to all for your different kinds of support. It makes a difference.

Richmond is an interesting place. We stayed in the Omni which is in the Shockoe Slip. By way of orientation, The Omni is right across the street from the reasonably famous Tobacco Company Restaurant. The streets around this area, which is reasonably old, are much wider than that of Manassas. However, for all of Richmond’s other problems, this area is very nice. In its current form, it strikes me as a reasonable indication of where we want Old Town to be. There is a lot to do and the area is a destination. I expect the main difference is that we won’t be having any 30 story buildings but we will need to continue to work had to bring the right mix of business and residential to the area.

Happy Thanksgiving and if you’re crazy enough to do the whole black friday thing, good luck to you!
