My Side of the Fence

The danger isn't going too far. It's that we don't go far enough.

Weekend Roundup

Two things this weekend:  the Osbourn Eagles came up a little short against a really great team.  I couldn’t make it to Blacksburg but in looking at the stats, it must have been a great game.  Congratulations to the Coaches, Players and everyone else who produced a great season for us.

The other item was the arrival of Santa Claus on the VRE and the Christmas parade.  Both events were well attended but I was worried on Friday night when I got there and the crowd was small.  As it turns out, I was there early and it filled up rapidly after I arrived.  After the Mayor and Santa spoke, I went into Old Town for dinner and had a tough time getting a table!  Good news.  The crowd for the parade was down a little bit from last year when the parade started but it filled up after awhile.  Parades don’t really turn my crank but I was glad to see so many folks there!

OHS could use some help

It appears that we are victims of our own success.  The trip to Tech for the state football finals is going to cost a bunch and the school could use some help in defraying the cost.  If you can spare a couple of bucks, please contact Coach Gryder over at OHS or simply drop a check off at the school.   A quick clarification though:  things aren’t so bad that we won’t go if we don’t raise the money but I would be surprised if we budgeted for a trip to the state finals…:)
