My Side of the Fence

The danger isn't going too far. It's that we don't go far enough.

Open Thread & Coffee

I will be doing coffee tomorrow morning at 7:30!  Come on over to Simply Sweet.  Oh, and I’m swamped until after the convention so this is an open thread – have at it.  I’ll post some results from the discussion at the finance committee meeting early next week.

  1. Dear Candidate Harrover,

What is your position on politicians in tights, or politicians who lobby their fellow politicians to don tights?

And would you support closer scrutiny of Non-profits which recieve city funds, especially in regard to their hiring and labor practices and their leveraging of city resources?

  2. Doug, on the nonprofits – at least in terms of a City Policy on an application process – the City came up with one which was discussed at last Monday’s Council meeting. Full info is at Agenda Item 13 (starts at Page 47 of the packet):

  3. Thanks Ray,
I see nothing that might explicitly disqualify an applicant or previous grantee. The process appears to rely mainly on the good and common sense of the selection committee.

    Docs forthcoming?

(Thank you, Jon Way for read receipt.)

I second what Dad said Doug’s blog: We need Mel Brooks to come here and make “Manassas City Council: Leaders in Tights” or something like that…

  6. Sorry for the delay, I’ve been busy this morning! I’d prefer not to see politicians in tights…:)

    @AndyH

So what separates you from your opponent is that you promise to not appear to tights in a ballet like Mayor Parrish as done in the past?

  8. Mr. Beverage, you have my word I will not appear in tights in a ballet. It wouldn’t be pretty. In fact, I can assure you the only time I will wear anything form-fitting will be on a bike…:)

  9. “Mr. Beverage, you have my word I will not appear in tights in a ballet.”

When we look back at this election in years to come this might be the decisve words spoken in the campaign.

ah, in the spirit of compromise, if elected, would you consider tights and a cape? maybe a cool logo with a big H? word on the street is that Dr. Werner, the new OHS Principal donned the “Incredible’s” super hero costume on dress up day – that takes some guts, those teenagers can be brutal…

Also, who is that gentleman in the blue jacket holding his book and a ballot in the second picture from the left ;)?

  12. Andy,

You did good. And remember Foreman did eventually become champion.
